Glittering Pine Forest Cake
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour pan with cocoa powder thoroughly before baking; set aside.
On high speed, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; add vanilla, peppermint extract and salt. With mixer on low, gradually add flour, beating just until combined (do not over mix).
Bake until a toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean, about 1 hour. Let cool in pan 10 minutes. Invert and turn upright to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar and ample edible glitter.
